New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio Hosts Celebration For Greek Independence

 

 

 

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio hosted the annual Greek Independence Day reception at Gracie Mansion in Manhattan on Wednesday, April 1st, 2015, acknowledging the huge impact of Greek people in the City.

“We celebrate 194 years of Greek independence and the incredible – the incredible role that Greece has played in the world and that the Greek-American community has played here in New York City – long, long, deep ties between the U.S. and Greece, New York City and Greece,” said Mayor de Blasio who was also an honorary guest of the Greek parade on Fifth Avenue.

Archbishop Demetrios and Greek-American guests, Justin Bozonelis, Nikolas Katsimpras, Michael Apostolides, Stathis Theodoropoulos, Tasos Pardalis,Tasos D Zambas and Andrew Gounardes all attended the event.
